# Kent G3 Hybrid Inverter — Three-Phase Platform Guide

> Three-phase 10/12/15 kW models, key ratings, wire-box connection points, status LED states, and what makes the G3 platform distinct.

The Kent G3 Hybrid Inverter is Kent's **three-phase** hybrid platform, combining PV, low-voltage battery, grid, backup, and a generator port in 10, 12, and 15 kW models. Before you wire anything, understand the ratings, the connection layout, and the limits that make this platform different from every other Kent unit.

## The Three Models

|                                | Kent G3 10KW | Kent G3 12KW | Kent G3 15KW |
| ------------------------------ | ------------ | ------------ | ------------ |
| Rated output (grid / backup)   | 10 kW        | 12 kW        | 15 kW        |
| Max output current per phase   | 15.2 A       | 18.2 A       | 22.8 A       |
| Grid-side max input current    | 22.8 A       | 27.3 A       | 34.2 A       |
| Battery charge / discharge max | 220 A        | 250 A        | 290 A        |
| Max usable PV                  | 16 kW        | 19.2 kW      | 24 kW        |
| MPPT input currents            | 20 A + 40 A  | 20 A + 40 A  | 40 A + 40 A  |

## Platform Facts Every Installer Must Know

* **Three-phase 3/N/PE, 220/380 V or 230/400 V.** Grid window 323–460 V, 50/60 Hz.
* **Low-voltage battery: 40–60 V DC**, Li-ion or lead-acid, BMS communicated over **CAN** (RS485 also supported).
* **Backup transfer \< 10 ms**, overload **2× rated power for 10 s**, max continuous AC pass-through **50 A**, max phase imbalance 50%.
* **IP66**, operating **−40 °C to +60 °C**, RH 0–95%, altitude **≤ 4000 m**. Smart fan cooling: air enters **LEFT**, exits **RIGHT**. Noise \< 65 dB(A). Weight ≤ 42 kg. Non-isolated. Night self-consumption \< 30 W.
* **PV:** max 1000 V, MPPT window 200–850 V, startup 160 V, two MPPTs (up to 3 strings on 10/12 kW, 4 on 15 kW).
* **GEN port is three-phase** and rated to the inverter's own power and current per model.

## Wire Box and Connection Points

The wire box gives you access to every field connection in one place:

* **DC switch** — PV disconnect
* **Battery input** — dual 2+2 M8 terminals
* **GEN port** — three-phase generator or AC-couple input
* **AC Backup port** — backup loads panel
* **AC Grid port** — utility connection
* **PV inputs** — MC4-compatible string connectors
* **COM4/COM5** — CT conductors and G-V dry contact (16-pin block)
* **COM2/COM3** — RJ45 glands for BMS, meter, and parallel cables
* **Datalogger stick port** — USB (COM1), datalogger only
* **Bluetooth antenna** — fit at installation

<Info>
  The datalogger stick is fitted physically at installation and activated with Kent Central Command — documentation to follow. All commissioning steps on this site use the on-device HMI (screen and four keys); no app is required.

## Status LEDs

| LED       | ON                | OFF         | Flashing                |
| --------- | ----------------- | ----------- | ----------------------- |
| POWER     | DC power detected | No DC power | —                       |
| OPERATION | Fully operational | Stopped     | Initializing            |
| ALARM | Emergency fault | No fault | Warning or normal fault |

## What This Platform Is Not

The Kent G3 is not a single-phase machine and is not interchangeable with the Kent M1. Torque values, menu passwords, DIP switch positions, TOU units, and DG rules all differ between platforms. If you work across both, print the [Mixed-Fleet Cheat Card](/mixed-fleet/cheat-card) before you start.
