# Kent M1 Hybrid Inverter — Overview and Specifications

> Single-phase hybrid platform in 3/5/6 kW models: rated outputs, battery window, protection ratings, two MPPTs, and the dedicated GEN port.

The Kent M1 Hybrid Inverter is Kent's single-phase hybrid platform — PV in, battery in, grid and backup out, plus a dedicated GEN port — available in three models: 3 kW, 5 kW, and 6 kW. Before you drill the first hole or pull any cable, read this page so you know exactly which unit you have, what it can and cannot do, and where all the connection points live.

  **Backup current is per-model.** 30 A applies only to the 6 kW unit. Never promise "30 A backup" on a 3 kW or 5 kW site — size essential loads to the model's own figure before the customer buys anything.

## Platform facts every installer must know

* **Single-phase, low-voltage battery.** Battery window is **40–60 V DC**, Li-ion or lead-acid, BMS over **CAN**.
* **IP66, outdoor-capable** — siting rules still apply: shade, no drip sources above, adequate ventilation. Operating range **−20 °C to +60 °C**, altitude **≤ 2000 m**.
* **Non-isolated topology** — PV conductors must never be earthed. Module frames are earthed; PV+ and PV− are not.
* **Two MPPTs, one string each**, max **500 V** open-circuit voltage.
* **Dedicated GEN port** on all three models: **6600 VA / 30 A** single-phase input.
* **Fanless** — natural-convection cooling, less than 35 dB, night self-consumption under 35 W, weight **19 kg**.
* Grid supply forms supported: TN-S, TN-C, TN-C-S, TT.

## Ports and connection points

Reading across the bottom of the unit, left to right: **DC Switch** (PV disconnect) · **PV input terminals** · **COM1 / COM2** · **GRID** · **GEN** · **BACKUP**. On the battery side you have the **battery power button switch**, **Battery −**, **Battery +**, the **WiFi (datalogger) port**, and the relief valve. System status is shown on the front **LED and LCD**.

  The WiFi datalogger stick is fitted physically during installation and is **activated with Kent Central Command — documentation to follow**. Nothing in commissioning requires an app; the on-device LCD handles everything.

## What this platform is not

The Kent M1 is not a three-phase machine and is not interchangeable with the Kent G3. Torque values, menu passwords, DIP switch positions, and settings all differ between platforms. When a crew works on both platforms on the same day, use the [Mixed-Fleet Cheat Card](/mixed-fleet/cheat-card).

## When to escalate

Escalate to Kent New Energy service only — through your registered Kent partner channel or the Kent service desk details on your work order. Do not contact any third-party or component-manufacturer support line for a Kent-branded system: tickets outside the Kent channel are not tracked, not covered, and can void warranty handling.
