# Kent KNB: Public Site Content vs Partner-Gated Info

> Know exactly what lives on this public site and what stays partner-gated — passwords, validation register, certification, and design tools explained.

This site is public on purpose — safety and siting knowledge should be one search away for anyone on a Kent job. A small set of items stays behind the Kent partner gate, and those gates exist for safety, compliance, and warranty reasons, not bureaucracy.

<Info>
  If a page seems to be missing a number you expected, check for a **KNB-VAL validation block** first. The value may be pending confirmation from Kent — not hidden behind a gate.
</Info>

## What is public — on this site

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Safety" icon="shield-halved">
    All six safety pages: Safety First, Electrical Basics, Isolation & Shutdown, PPE & Tools, Earthing & Protection, and Authorized-Only Actions.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Environment and Siting" icon="map-location-dot">
    Location selection, mounting, clearances, ventilation, water ingress, and the site photo checklist.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Installation and Commissioning" icon="list-check">
    Full platform installation pages with every cited parameter value, plus the commissioning checklists and function-test procedures.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Troubleshooting" icon="triangle-exclamation">
    Symptom-based fault flows through to the escalation point — battery not charging, backup not working, comm faults, nuisance tripping, and more.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Customer Handover" icon="handshake">
    The handover pack, display walkthrough, essential-loads explanation, backup expectations, and warranty guidance.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Quiz Bank" icon="graduation-cap">
    All quiz questions and answer keys are public as the self-study layer. The proctored certification test itself is not.
  </Card>

## What is partner-gated

<Accordion title="Advanced-menu and parameter-lock passwords">
  Passwords for the advanced menus on both platforms are partner-gated and differ between Kent M1 and Kent G3. Public pages say *"authorized installers unlock the advanced menu"* and stop there. They will never be printed on this site.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Grid code selection parameters">
  Grid code selection during commissioning must be set exactly per the Kent parameter sheet for the site's DISCOM. The selection process is documented here, but the specific code values for each DISCOM are confirmed through Kent partner training. \[KNB-VAL-01]
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="The full KNB-VAL validation register">
  The KNB-VAL IDs you see on these pages are tracking references. The complete register — with OEM citations, resolution status, and interim-rule history — lives on the partner portal, not here.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Certification process">
  The proctored test, practical assessment, and Kent partner certificate run through Kent partner training — not through this site. The quiz bank here is the public self-study layer, with answer keys included, so you can prepare. Passing the quiz does not grant certification.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Internal SKU cross-references and design tools">
  String sizing, load surveys, and sourcing details are partner-side. This site covers install → commission → troubleshoot → hand over.
</Accordion>

## Common mistakes

<Warning>
  **Never share partner passwords with unauthorized crews.** Sharing an unlock password so a subcontractor can "save a call" is how wrong grid-code settings end up on customer sites. Every unlock is attributable, and the audit trail is real.
</Warning>

<Accordion title="Assuming 'public' means complete for design purposes">
  Design tools — string sizing, load surveys, battery capacity calculations — remain partner-side. This site is complete for field installation and service but is not a design resource.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Treating a missing number as a gap">
  Before assuming a value is missing or gated, check whether a KNB-VAL validation block covers it. The block will tell you the safe interim rule and the tracking ID to quote when you contact Kent.
</Accordion>
