Platform pre-checks
- Altitude — site at or below 2000 m. Pass: confirmed (higher sites are a Kent G3 or Kent-query case).
- Dual PE connected — the AC-connector system ground and the chassis protective-earth point, never only one; chassis terminal paint-sealed after fitting. Pass: both points landed and photographed. 📷
- Backup-port PE grounded — backup will not operate in a grid failure without it. Pass: verified continuity.
- PV within platform limits — string open-circuit voltage ≤ 500 V; difference between the two MPPT inputs < 250 V; one string per MPPT. Pass: measured values logged.
Power-up & first configuration (on-device display)
Kent M1 power-on sequence figure — figure KNB-M1-CR-13
- Power ON in the M1 sequence — AC breaker → inverter PV DC switch → battery breaker → battery switch → battery button. Pass: clean boot.
- First-run settings entered in order — time → meter/CT → grid standard → operation mode → battery type + BMS protocol. Advanced items are unlocked by authorized installers only (password is partner-gated). Pass: each screen confirmed and photographed. 📷
- Grid code set per Kent parameter sheet for the site’s DISCOM. [KNB-VAL-01 — never improvise grid parameters]
- Kent Lithium Battery selected — set the LV battery-brand protocol family per the Kent battery pages; confirm live SOC. [KNB-VAL-05 — exact on-screen label under confirmation; pairing and the crossover-cable rule are confirmed] 📷
Backup sizing honesty
- Backup loads within the per-model continuous rating — max backup current 15 A (3 kW) / 25 A (5 kW) / 30 A (6 kW); 3300 / 5500 / 6600 VA. Pass: measured backup load at or below the model figure.
- Transfer behaviour test — open the grid breaker with real essential loads. Pass: loads ride through; no figure is quoted to the customer. [KNB-VAL-03 — no ms figure for Kent M1 until published]
Shutdown drill (before leaving)
- Power OFF in the M1 sequence — battery button OFF (+ GEN source off) → AC breaker OFF → DC isolator OFF → wait the labelled 5 minutes. Then power back ON in sequence. Pass: clean shutdown and restart.
Common mistakes
- Connecting one PE point and skipping the chassis earth — dual PE is mandatory on this platform.
- Promising “the AC will run in a power cut” without checking the per-model backup current.
- Carrying Kent G3 menu habits (passwords, parallel DIP positions) onto this platform.
