What every field-relevant Kent G3 setting does, and the Kent rules around it. This page never applies to the Kent M1 — parameter names and units differ between platforms.
For trained/authorized installers only. The professional menu is password-locked (partner-gated). Grid protection levels load from the grid code — never hand-edit them.

Storage modes

Modes are exclusive — one at a time. Off-grid also engages automatically on a grid outage, supplying backup loads only.

Mode options

Pending Kent validation. [KNB-VAL-06] The shipped-firmware default for unbalanced output and the 150 % unbalanced-load figure are under bench confirmation. Until published here: do not promise more than 100 % of the per-phase rating on any single phase, and record the per-phase test at commissioning.

Time of Use (TOU)

  • Up to 6 charge + 6 discharge windows; each window sets a current (amperes) and a SOC/voltage cut-off, with an enable box per window. Available in Self-use and Selling first. Grid charges in charge windows only if Allow grid charging is ON.

Battery settings and functions

  • Core thresholds: Max charge / discharge current, Overdischarge SOC (default 20 %), Recovery SOC, Force-charge SOC (default 10 %), Max charge SOC (default 100 %), Battery saving. Ordering rule: Force-charge < Overdischarge < Recovery.
  • ECO function: with PV under 100 W and SOC below overdischarge, standby power comes from the grid, not the battery.
  • Battery Healing: after long low-SOC operation, charges to the healing SOC before allowing discharge, restoring SOC accuracy.
Pending Kent validation — leave battery wake-up at factory values. [KNB-VAL-18] The battery wake-up voltage range printed in the source manual’s text does not match this platform’s 40–60 V battery window (a known documentation errata). Until Kent publishes the confirmed range: use the Battery Wakeup switch only, and do not key in wake-up voltage values from any manual text.

Zero-export recipe (export-limited sites)

  1. Allow Export OFF (or Max export power = 0 where the DISCOM requires an explicit cap).
  2. Export calibration trimmed slightly negative if residual export shows.
  3. Witness test: high PV, minimum load, watch the utility meter for sustained export; then a heavy-load step for CT sign sanity. 📷

Only-PV-power-load (special cases)

OFF by default; auto-disabled when PV exceeds 510 V. If PV falls below the load, the load shuts and auto-restart retries after 3, then 5, then 10 minutes — after the third failure a manual reset is required. Know it exists before chasing a “mystery shutdown”.

Common mistakes

  • Feed-in “disabled” by hope instead of Allow Export OFF / Max export power 0 + witness test.
  • TOU windows set in watts by M1 habit — this platform’s windows are current-based.
  • Battery reserve dropped to 20 % “for more savings” — the first outage lands on an empty battery.
  • Wake-up voltage typed from the manual text. [KNB-VAL-18]
