Storage Modes
Modes are exclusive — one at a time. Off-grid also engages automatically on a grid outage and supplies backup loads only.| Mode | Load priority | Supply priority |
|---|---|---|
| Self-use | load → battery → grid | PV → battery → grid → DG |
| Selling first | load → grid → battery | PV → battery → grid → DG |
| Off-grid | load → battery | PV → battery → DG |
Mode Options
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Allow Export | Enables feed-in in Self-use. Leave OFF where feed-in is not permitted. |
| Max export power | Caps feed-in (default 1.1× rated). If feed-in is not allowed, set this to 0. |
| Export calibration | −500 to +500 W (default 20 W). Trim slightly negative to eliminate residual export shown by the utility meter. |
| Battery reserve | 5–95%, default 80%. Below this level the battery stops discharging during on-grid operation. |
| Allow grid charging | Grid charges the battery when SOC falls to Force-charge SOC, or when PV cannot meet the set current in a charge window. |
| Unbalanced output | ON = each phase feeds its own load; one phase can carry up to 50% of total power (15 kW unit → up to 7.5 kW on one phase). OFF = power is split equally at rated/3 per phase. |
| Grid peak shaving | Caps grid draw at the set value by reducing battery charging. Exceeded only to keep the load alive. Set to the site’s sanctioned import limit. |
Time of Use (TOU)
Up to 6 charge windows and 6 discharge windows. Each window sets:- A current value in amperes (not watts — this is the critical difference from the Kent M1)
- A SOC or voltage cut-off
- An enable toggle per window
Battery Settings and Functions
Core thresholds
Core thresholds
| Setting | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Max charge current | Per bank sizing | Set to packs × pack current limit |
| Max discharge current | Per bank sizing | Set to packs × pack current limit |
| Overdischarge SOC | 20% | Battery stops discharging below this level |
| Recovery SOC | Above overdischarge | Battery resumes discharge once it recovers to this level |
| Force-charge SOC | 10% | Grid charges battery when it falls to this level |
| Max charge SOC | 100% | Upper charging limit |
ECO function
ECO function
When PV is under 100 W and SOC is below the overdischarge threshold, standby power draws from the grid rather than the battery. Reduces unnecessary shallow cycles during overcast days.
Battery Healing
Battery Healing
After a prolonged period at low SOC, the system charges to the Healing SOC before allowing discharge again. This restores SOC measurement accuracy. Normal behaviour — not a fault.
Zero-Export Recipe
Use this sequence on any export-limited site:Disable export
Set Allow Export = OFF, or set Max export power = 0 where the DISCOM requires an explicit numerical cap.
Trim calibration
Set Export calibration slightly negative if a residual export is visible on the utility meter after step 1.
Only-PV-Power-Load
This feature is OFF by default and auto-disabled when PV voltage exceeds 510 V. If the load exceeds available PV power, the load shuts off. Auto-restart retries at 3 minutes, then 5 minutes, then 10 minutes. After the third failed restart, a manual reset is required. Know this behaviour exists before spending time chasing what looks like a mystery shutdown.Common Mistakes
- Feed-in “disabled” by hope alone instead of Allow Export OFF plus Max export power 0 plus a witness test.
- TOU windows set in watts by M1 habit — this platform’s windows are current-based in amperes.
- Battery reserve dropped to 20% “for more savings” — the first grid outage lands on a nearly empty battery.
- Wake-up voltage values typed from manual text instead of using the switch only — see the validation warning above.
