Order of work
Confirm the site
Verify the location against the M1 limits: altitude ≤ 2000 m, correct clearances, no direct sun on the unit, no drip sources above, good ventilation.
Mount the unit
Fix the backplane and hang the inverter per Kent M1 Mounting.
Earth it — both PE points
Complete both protective-earth connections before any other wiring. See Kent M1 Earthing & RCD.
Wire all circuits
In order: PV wiring → Battery wiring → AC wiring → CT & meter → Comms & datalogger → GEN port if used.
Commission
Run the Kent M1 Commissioning flow and complete the M1 Commissioning Checklist.
Before you start — pre-checks
Check before signing. Inspect the packaging for damage and verify the model number against the order before you open anything. If there is a problem: do not unpack — photograph the damage and contact your Kent channel.Packing list

Tools required
Gather everything before you travel to site:- Impact drill with Φ10 mm class bit and Φ8 mm anchor bit
- Torque screwdriver and socket wrench
- Multimeter
- PV crimping pliers
- Wire strippers
- Spirit level and marker
- PV plug unlocking tool

If units are stored before installation:- Keep the original packaging with desiccant intact.
- Stack per the carton markings only.
- Check stored units monthly; a professional inspection is required before a long-stored unit enters service.
| Condition | Duration |
|---|---|
| −20 to 35 °C | Up to 12 months |
| Up to 45 °C | Up to 3 months |
| Up to 55 °C | Up to 1 month |
| Transport: −10 to 40 °C | Per UN3481 rules |
Common mistakes
- Unpacking a damaged carton instead of photographing and reporting it first.
- Skipping the mounting-plate anchor pull-check because “the wall looked solid.”
- Wiring AC before earthing — both PE points come first on this platform.
